Dayton Mercy Society condemns attempt on synagogue in New York

The Dayton Mercy Society wishes to express its outrage at the attempted attack against Jewish houses of worship in New York. The Dayton Mercy Society also applauds the FBI for foiling the suspected group’s plot to bomb the synagogues in New York and to use surface-to-air missiles to attack U.S. military planes.

The Dayton Mercy Society in echoing the sentiments of the Dayton Muslims wishes to express solidarity with all Jewish Americans against any attacks. We, Muslims and Jews are believers in the One God who inspires us to strive for the values of peace and justice. We are all Americans and will continue striving to protect our country against any threat. We will continue our commitment to diaologue and fighting all kinds of hate and bigotry including anti-semitism,by continuing to build bridges between communities and people of all faiths and beliefs.

Islam does not condone any acts of violence and the killing of innocents or destroying property in the name of religion. We condemn these attempts of terrorist activities in the name of religion and call on the authorities to bring the guilty to justice swiftly.
